2004 Honda Civic Clutch Replacement Tutorial

In this video, learn how to replace the clutch and flywheel on a 7th gen Honda Civic EX (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005).  This install is actually pretty straight forward and not all that bad (hardest part is getting the tranny and motor to line up correctly).  But it is a really big, pretty involved install that took me and a friend 14 hours to complete.  I wouldn’t try this one unless you’re mechanically inclined, but if you are, it’s well worth the knowledge gained and amount of money saved!  Hope you found it helpful and don’t forget to comment, like, share and subscribe!  Thanks for watching!

Quick cheat sheet I made to remember the order of removing parts:
Part 1 – while car is on the ground
Remove battery
Remove air box
Move all the wires that get in the way of the starter and that area
Remove 2 sensor plugs (reverse light and speed sensor)
Remove starter
Remove shift linkage
Remove slave cylinder hard line

Part 2 – After you put the car on jack stands
Drain tranny fluid
Take axles out
Remove motor mounts, rear mount first (and also front mount and tranny side mount)
Remove bottom tranny bolts (2 tranny bolts, 4 engine stiffener bolts, 1 more tranny bolt near the axle input area plus 2 flywheel cover bolts)
Remove other 4 bell housing bolts
Drop tranny
